The Durham Bulls, AAA-Class Baseball team, the farm team of the Tampa Bay Rays, play all of their home games in the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, 10 miles north of The Hotel Indigo Raleigh-Durham Airport at RTP.

The Durham Bulls were made famous by the Kevin Costner, Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon film "Bull Durham", and were also featured in "Brewster's Millions" and "The Rookie".

Baseball is America's pastime, and some of the Durham Bulls that have been called up to "The Big's" include: Andruw Jones, David Justice, Jorge Cantu, Mickey Lolitch, Julio Franco, Rocco Baldelli, Ron Gant, Chipper Jones, Joe Morgan, Rusty Staub and Evan Longoria. Some of the players are Hall of Famers and some are still playing for their respective teams.
