The North Carolina State Fair

The annual North Carolina State Fair is held every October, just west of Raleigh North Carolina, as it has been for the last 156 years! The Hotel Indigo Raleigh-Durham Airport at Research Triangle Park is located 11 miles northwest of the fairgrounds, making it a quick ride to attend this 11-day event.

The North Carolina State Fair was established to educate local farmers by sharing new and improved agricultural and technological ideas and discoveries. This continues today with the exhibit of "Green NC". Included in the display are: energy-efficient lighting, climate control, alternative fuels, recycling, solar, wind and renewable energy sources. Showing all how to sustain ourselves in the years to come.

The North Carolina State Fair outdoes itself every year with better exhibits, competitions and entertainment. Be sure to stay for the fireworks, every night from 8:00 to 9:45pm.
